Find the IMEI on the real device
Do not search for an engraved IMEI on iPhone 14. US hardware has no tray; other markets can have one, but Apple still excludes iPhone 14 and later from IMEI/MEID engraving. Use Settings, the original box or another documented account/computer method.

- Run the Apple MDM lab example and use its valid synthetic slot records in the intake mock.
- Submit the mock with no tray photo and with identifier_source set to settings-about. Keep the market and A2649 hardware number as separate fields.
- Repeat with A2884 and market Hong Kong. Permit that market’s physical-SIM configuration, but do not ask for an engraved IMEI on its tray.
Expected result in your importer
Both records can complete the identifier step without a tray engraving. A2649 never receives a physical-SIM requirement from a generic iPhone form.
